Cebu City Marathon 2013

Cebu City Marathon
January 13, 2013  IT Park
5k    45: 49  136/239 female

First of all congrats to Cebu Executive Runners Club and all the finishers  this morning. You did great.
I confess I initially didn’t want to participate the CCM 2013 because of the expensive registration fees but I changed my mind on the day of  deadline, Dec. 16, 2012. I wanted to experience what  a  P800 5k run feels like and its also my way to support the sinulog and the running community in Cebu.
Its more fun to run in  Cebu.
Whats my verdict?  Actually it feels the same as the P350 registration fee that I paid in the fun runs that I participated, even the food was the same, Tinongs bread and water.  I’m not really surprised.  They do have separate meal stations for 42k and 21k, I like that. The singlet is also nice. I plan to wear it at home.
Also,  no certificate and no loot bag.. oh well. There were fireworks in the gun start for 21K, mahal din yun. Don’t know about the 42k, di ko naabutan.
I just want to say as a 5k runner, the registration fee is too much.  Ayaw nalang kahibung kung mo-reklamo ang  local runners, mismo ako nga naay kwartang pambayad,  reklamo man gani.  It would be great if you would lower it and offer discounts to students. Also, sana no deadline for 5k.  Accept runners  even on the day of  the run, trust me, a lot of people change their minds  at the last minute to run.   The more runners , the merrier di ba.
Other  suggestions:  Early announcement of the ccm run, preferably 6 months before. Then promote it in other regions and other countries. I think you should target the hard core runners outside cebu. Most of the locals already know about this. Anyway, good luck to CCM 2014, I guess I won’t be there.

Cooperative Advocacy Run

January 6, 2013 Plaza Independencia 5:30 a.m.
5k 45: 25

First of all, thank God for the  nice weather. The sun rises at almost 6:00 am so by the time the sun rises, I almost finished my 5k run. It was a great run, the route was nice, f\rom Fort San Pedro to RAdissons Hotel then back..
There were only a few marshals, and those who were present where just standing around. A little girl was almost run over near the 5k turning point. That was a scary moment. Also, Mayor Mike Rama and his son were present. After the run, there was a lady who was selling fake adidas, nike, etc running gear. I bought adidas shorts for P150.00 using  my breakfast money. My time has improved since sinulog run for about 2 minutes but still, i had to walk parts of the run.  I am a bit frustrated but i have to be patient. I'm scheduled for a 10k run this Feb for philhealth run and possibly a 12k for SM to SM2 run.

The bad:
No snacks, just water. No certificates. No raffles. No freebies. BOOO.

Likes: I like the singlet, in fact i'm wearing it right now. I also like the route.

next: ccm 5k. I'm expecting a lot of freebies. fingers crossed.
